The Community Foundation for Scouting in Williamston (CFSW) is the chartered organization supporting Scouts BSA, Williamston Troop #63 and Williamston Cub Scout Pack #263. CFSW was formally established when its initial Board of Directors adopted its bylaws on August 16, 2023. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, its primary charter is to promote, facilitate, and oversee the activities of Scouting America units based in Williamston, MI. By serving as a charter organization, the foundation provides critical benefits including specialized liability insurance, leadership recruitment, and administrative support to ensure local youth can participate in programs that instill the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Prior to the establishment of CFSW in 2023, Troop #63 was chartered under the Williamston Kiwanis, a local chapter of the global Kiwanis International organization, dedicated to serving children and improving the Greater Williamston community through volunteerism and fundraising.
