Northwoods Summer Camp

The below information pertains to the 2011 Northwoods summer camp week.  Links to the left contain informational sheets and important forms.

Important Dates

  • March 28 – Registration forms and first payment ($100 min) due
  • April 4 – Merit Badge Signup Begins
  • April 18 – Second payment ($80 min) due
  • May 9 – Final payment due
  • June 6 – Pre-camp Logistics Meeting
  • June 14 – Sunnyside Cafe fundraising dinner 4-8pm
  • June 20 – Health/Medical, Camper Release and Registry forms due
  • July 10 – Depart for Northwoods

General Information

Mohawk Campsite has been reserved, and Troop 63 is looking forward to having a great week up north.  Cost for 2011 is $260 per Scout and includes food, shelter, t-shirt, patch, and some program supplies.  Important dates are listed above.  All Scouts and adults attending Northwoods must submit a BSA Medical Form (available for download via the link to the left) signed by their physician.  Physicals for ALL participants must be within 12 months of camp.  Adults are required to have training and register with the State of Michigan Central Registry.

Merit Badge Prerequisites

Many merit badges offered at Northwoods have requirements that must be completed prior to going to camp. These prerequisites are listed in the Merit Badge Prerequisites document, which can be downloaded from the link to the left. Scouts may refer to meritbadge.com for badge requirements. Scouts should have prerequisites completed before their arrival at camp. More information will be coming as soon as it is available from Council.

All Scouts taking the Swimming or Lifesaving Merit Badges must bring an extra change of clothing, including a button-down shirt, pair of blue jeans and old tennis shoes.
