When writing a gear review, please follow these important guidelines:

Contents

Specificity

The review generally should be about a single product or a product line, although in some cases a review covering a product category is acceptable.

Format

Reviews should follow this general format:

Summary of experience with the gear item/items and initial thoughts.

The Good

Explain what you like about the item/items, what works well, etc. This section should contain all positive information on the item/items.

The Bad

Explain what you didn't like about the item/items, what doesn't work well, etc. This section should contain any negative information on the item/items.

The Verdict

Summarize the item/items and give a final recommendation. Be sure to include which types of outings the item/items would be best for.

Also, include any references you used and (optional) a short list of locations where the item/items can be purchased.

Spelling/Grammar

Reviews must contain proper spelling, grammar, mechanics, etc. Submitted reviews will be checked over before being posted, but a review with severe problems will be rejected until the problems are fixed.
